You have to wonder where some of these binomial names come from.
Without the size clue, which gets a bit lost in a close-up photograph, these little chaps look quite like a Micrathyria species but these are smaller. The wing venation gives something of a clue to its size. The “Spine-bellied” bit refers to “a unique projecting spine on the underside of the make thorax” which is “difficult to see” but I fancy it can be seen through the wings in my first picture.
Quite delightful and one of the few in cop pairs that I saw in Costa Rica.
